Who is Eco Libre?
Trained as a social educator, Anne-Julie has spent many years of her career working for the Department of Public Education and the Hospice Général. In these roles, she was always deeply involved in the social and economic aspects of the lives of the people she accompanied. However, one crucial element was missing from its missions: ecological impact.
Convinced that respect for the environment should be an integral part of any social commitment, she began looking for ways to integrate this dimension into her work.
It was this quest for meaning and balance between social, economic and environmental issues that led Anne-Julie to found Eco-libre Sàrl in 2018.
Inspired by the good habits of her grandmother Dora, she drew on her homemade, sustainable laundry detergent and investigated further, working with chemists in Geneva and Fribourg…
Eco-libre has thus been able to develop its raison d’être: the preservation of one of the fundamental needs of living beings and the planet: Water.

In this way, we offer citizens the chance to become active consumers by helping to protect water and their health.

Inclusive production
Our washing powder is manufactured in Geneva, in the inclusive workshops of the private social enterprise PRO. This collaboration is not simply a production, but an opportunity for individuals in vocational rehabilitation to contribute to our common mission.

Ideal Chimic provides us with its expertise, and SIG Impact was an invaluable guide in the participatory financing that enabled us to acquire our eco-friendly bicycle scooter. As a strong advocate of a local circular economy, Impact Hub is our partner in promoting sustainable social projects.
Local ingredients
The organic sunflower oil used in our detergent comes from the committed producers of l’Affaire TourneRêve in Geneva. We also benefit from the expertise of the Savonnerie de la Cité, which prepares cold process soap exclusively for us, preserving all its natural properties.
